Fall and the Larches
Western larch, called tamarack locally, turn yellow and drop their needles each autumn, and around Seeley Lake the color most likely peaks in early to mid October. The best-documented place to see them is the Jim Girard Memorial Grove, home of Gus, the largest known western larch in the US. Fall is also kokanee and hunting season.
